23 Aug eCommerce Sales Growing
The numbers are in for Q2 retail sales and they’re looking very good: US in-person shopping jumped 28.2% year-over-year (YOY). Compare that with a negative growth rate of 3.6% a year ago.
We knew that in-person shopping would eventually have to take some volume away from digital channels and that appears to have begun. eCommerce sales grew just 9.1% YOY; that’s a 3-year low. Still growing nicely but if the boom is slowing, that may explain why Amazon recently announced plans to open several big box retail stores in California and Ohio. #retailsales #ecommerce #amazon
